Where is the WiZard and What is she up to????

Let the Magic begin in 2009!!! I have joined the Maritime Doll Makers Group to return to a neglected phase of my life. Dolls are the ultimate in empathetic support systems; they are supportive without being critical.
I have been participating in the Carnegie Rug Hookers on Fridays at the Saint John Arts Centre. What !!! a fun group!!! There is no restriction to rug hooking; but a mix of all fiber and fabric. Sharing of ideas, knowledge and loads of fun.
I am hoping to renew my relationship with painting, photography and combining all the other medias that cross my path.
Let 2009 and be the Year of Whimsical Creativity!!!
Part of my creativity last year went to one of my very few commissioned pieces. Yukie requested a wedding dress. The challenge and the possiblity of enough white wool sweaters, the head dress and the cumberbun all factored in. It took all of the spring and most of the summer to collect enough white woollen sweaters. The design had been set as a balloon skirt and simple top. The skirt is made of 9 panels and the top is an adapted off the shoulder sweater. The headdress is a ring with satin ribbon and individually made sheer flowers with pompom centres. The bride was so delightful and the perfect model for the wedding dress. We wish her well and a long and creative marriage; which will begin on the Maid of the Mist at Niagara Falls.
